My name is Benedikt Endres, alias „renntier“, I am a 22-year old artist from south-western germany. I currently study Media Arts at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG Karlsruhe) and work here and there in the local theatre scene in Karlsruhe, some stations so far have been the Badisches Staatstheater and the Sandkorn-Theater. Furtherly I am engaged in photography, playing theater and working with (classical) literature.
In my freetime I also work in the local volunteer fire department, in which I do most of the press and public relations work. One of my references here is the creation of a new cooperate identity.
Focus of my artistic work is the digitalization of theatre, performative media arts and time-based/media scenography. My reasearch focused around the relationship between different forms and heritages of performative arts as well as the relations between analogue and digital formats.

Benedikt Endres (Geb.: Okt. 2003) studiert seit 2025 Medienkunst und Szenografie an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe. Vorher arbeitete er zwei Jahre in verschiedenen Funktionen am Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe, wo er bis heute im Nebenberuf Theaterführungen gibt. Unter anderem war er in der Abteilung Kommunikation und Marketing tätig, war aber auch als Produktions- bzw. Probenassistenz in den Produktionen „Zirkel der Macht“ (Audio-Theater-Spaziergang nach „Der Kreidekreis“ v. Klabund/Zemlinksy, Regie: Nike-Marie Steinbach) und „Alice im Wunderland“ (Nach Lewis Caroll, Regie und Fassung: Nele Lindemann) eingesetzt. Zuvor arbeitete Endres bereits am Karlsruher Privattheater „Das Sandkorn“ als Praktikant, wo er die inklusive Theatergruppe „D!E SP!NNER“ unterstützte sowie die Stückentwicklung „Streamland – K.O. durch K.I.“ (Text und Regie: Hendrik van Ryk/Erik Rastetter) als Hospitant begleitete. Seit Herbst 2023 steht er zudem in unregelmäßigen Abständen auch in Amateurtheaterprojekten selbst auf der Bühne.
Zuden ist er Mitglied des Kuratoriums für Kunst und Denkmalpflege „Zehnthaus Jockgrim“ sowie der Karlsruher Medienkunstinitiative „Lichtspielsauna„.
Schwerpunkt seines Studiums sind neben der Szenischen Fotografie vor allem die Digitalisierung des Theaters, darstellende Medienkunst und die Zeitbasierte/Mediale Szenografie. Im Fokus stehen dabei die Beziehung zwischen verschiedenen Formen der und Kunst und die Beziehung zwischen digitalen und analogen Formaten sowie verschiedener Theatertraditionen und Aufführungspraktiken.

Benedikt Endres (born: Oct. 2003) has been studying Media Art and Scenography at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design since 2025. Prior to that, he worked for two years in various roles at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he still works part-time today as a guide for theater tours. Among other things, he worked in the Communication and Marketing department, but was also involved as a production and rehearsal assistant in the productions “Zirkel der Macht” (an audio theater walk based on “Der Kreidekreis” by Klabund/Zemlinsky, directed by Nike-Marie Steinbach) and “Alice im Wunderland” (after Lewis Carroll, directed and adapted by Nele Lindemann).
Earlier, Endres had already worked at the Karlsruhe private theater “Das Sandkorn” as an intern, where he supported the inclusive theater group “D!E SP!NNER” and assisted as an observer in the development of the play “Streamland – K.O. durch K.I.” (text and direction: Hendrik van Ryk / Erik Rastetter). Since autumn 2023, he has also appeared on stage himself at irregular intervals in amateur theater projects.
